Having your drains cleaned before you do any type of heavy entertaining is a good idea to prevent any unnecessary problems.

 

Watch What Goes Down the Drain

We cannot say this enough! Drains are meant to remove waste water, not your leftovers and trash. Anything you put down the drain, has the potential get get stuck and cause a clog. If you are second guessing it, you probably should put it in the trash can. Some things to never flush or put down the drain:

What to Do if You Have a Clog

A clogged drain often creates a state of panic. Understandably so, it can be a stressful situation especially if you are entertaining. The most important thing is to remain calm, you make better decisions this way. To clear the clog yourself, you may want to try plunging, augmentation, hot water, or a cleaning solution make of baking soda and vinegar, or a combination of all. You may have to repeat several times. When plunging make sure you are using the right kind of plunger for the drain and make sure the plunger is fully submerged. If the clog proves to be to much, call your plumber.
